Rory update - I have been remiss in updating on our little man. He has done extremely well with the 1st heartworm treatment, no coughing , never a loss of appetite, fever or lethargy, in fact, he is like a 6 month old puppy. Our Rory story of the day is...Hubby went to the pantry to get a can of soup for a quick lunch, had it heating up and then went to fast forward a program when Rory jumped up on the sofa next to him. Ken looked down and Rory had dropped what appeared to be two tiny pieces of cheese. Ken picks it up off the sofa only to realize this is not cheese...but what is it and where did it come from, out to the kitchen...nothing; dinette....nothing. Oh no....pantry door is still open and there is a white powder all over the floor. Rory seems to have ripped open a brand new 5 pound bag of flour and just had the best time, his muzzle ...which is white to begin with, was now caked with flour. Kens priority was to clean the muzzle before it turned into doggie plaster of paris and clean the floor. No pictures. Me on the other hand would have left the cleaning and taken pictures laughing uncontrollably. He is adjusting just fine in this family, including sleeping on the bed, finding his own place, starting to get better with food (ball in the bowl has slowed him down immensely) and he is wonderful on his leash and loves his walks. Now, if only we could slow him down when his cousin Sophie comes to visit. She may have to be permanently banished from the Scottie Kingdom until he gets through his heartworm treatments. When Sophie is normal (?), they so love to snuggle at nap time. His next treatment is Monday for the 2nd shot, followed by the 3rd on Tuesday. Hopefully he has another good reaction again this time. Will have to keep very close watch over him. He is such a happy little boy and we just cannot even imagine what life was like without him in our home. He has adapted wonderfully and is such a sweet and loving little guy. We are so very blessed that God and St. Francis sent him our way. Again, we thank each and everyone of you for your love, prayers and support. Our lives are so enriched with him here.
