The following is my further interpretation of rose quartz. Rose quartz is another very popular crystal. Its coloring can be anywhere from a very pale light pink to a very deep pink. They can have a beautiful translucent quality about them. As with all crystals, rose quartz exhibits natural vibrations, which are of a light, soothing, and calming frequency. Rose quartz is an amplifier of energy, encouraging a more positive frame of mind. It is often called the “love” crystal or stone, because of its association with feelings of affection, nurturing, support, and love. This stone represents pure and unconditional love. It is connected to the qualities of tenderness and sensuality. It promotes positive thoughts and feelings in regard to oneself, and a general sense of contentment and well-being. By learning to love and appreciate ourselves unconditionally, and by treating ourselves with the respect and kindness we truly deserve, we are then also preparing ourselves to be able to open up and love others, welcoming them into our lives. Love is a very receptive and healing quality. Rose quartz helps teach us to forgive and accept ourselves. It is said to aid in the healing of broken hearts and in relationship issues, and perhaps even rekindling a romance. As we bring these higher vibrational qualities into our own lives, rose quartz can then also work with us in other ways. It can help to ease emotional stress, as well as shoring us up to reduce or minimize the effects of physical stress that can be exhibited in ways such as anxiety, panic disorders, and fear. It helps to clear away outmoded emotional conditioning. Because it aids in relieving anxiousness and worry, it is also said to aid in digestion. It can help to ease the effects of old, yet still painful wounds. It relieves feelings of anger, jealousy, and resentment, dissolving blockages and leaving room for the flow of its more positive qualities to fill you. Because of its calming effects, rose quartz, like amethyst and moonstone, can be placed under your pillow or mattress to calm and promote a restful sleep. Rose quartz is also known as a fertility stone, and is said to increase one’s chances of conception by helping to stimulate the sensual imagination. The ruby represents the fiery passion between two people, hence its association with The Lovers card in Tarot. Because I think rose quartz has some of the qualities exhibited in The Lovers, and because I also see here the caring, nurturing, fertile qualities found in The Empress, I feel rose quartz corresponds best to the Queen of Cups. Usually crystals are connected to major arcana cards, but for me, this stone relates more completely to the Queen of Cups. Astrologically speaking rose quartz corresponds to the sign of Taurus, which is, of course, ruled by Venus, the planet of love. Here are the romantic passions, ideals, and dreams. There is dedication here. Relationships are here for the long haul. These are not just two ships passing in the night. This is a deep, caring, pure, and mutual love. The healing aspects of this stone are said to be many. It is obviously connected to helping the heart and circulatory system. It is also said to help to alleviate issues with the chest and lungs as well. It relieves vertigo and releases impurities from the blood. It is also said to be helpful in senile dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease. Rose quartz is another crystal which can be found in various jewelry pieces, and is especially powerful when worn as a pin, broach, or necklace over the heart chakra. Worn on the throat chakra it promotes gentle discussion and communication regarding sensitive issues or problems, and it encourages more peaceful conversations. It helps dissolve unhealthy and unexpressed emotions. Carried as a stone in the pocket, it can foster a calm, emotionally balanced, and tranquil environment. Rose quartz is truly a beautiful stone.
