Rosemarie was asked to speak at the Fordham University Manhattan campus to the National Honor Society Psychology Chapter. The topic for the evening was How can we protect our children?”. Rosemarie spoke about her experiences dealing with Joan’s murder, and the parole fight and law changes that followed. She told the psychology and law students why there was need to have more active involvement for child safety, stronger laws for child protection and an emphasis on victims’ rights. Questions from the group expressed interest in how Rosemarie was able to handle the tragedy to find positive avenues to change society. John D’Alessandro gave a presentation of pictures and articles about the history of Joan’s case and made hand out packets for each attendee. A forensic psychologist Thomas A.
