Rosh Hashanah Rosh Hashanah begins tonight! Rosh Hashanah is the two-day celebration of the Jewish New Year. Many Jewish families will attend synagogue, enjoy a festive meal, and eat apples dipped in honey to usher in a “sweet” new year. The origins of this custom are somewhat mysterious, but scholars believe that the sound of the shofar is meant to wake the soul.
