Roughly a year back, I wrote a song with my producer Adam Smith entitled Limitless that later became the title track to the EP I released early this year. This is an incredibly special song because it speaks about the inner strength it takes for an individual to go after their dreams...especially in the face of detractors. When this song was written, I was going through a shift in my life where I was (once again) leaving one career behind and beginning steps towards a new one. It was scary (at times still is scary) but as I learned from past experience...I simply have to take the journey one step at a time. Truthfully, the only thing preventing me from achieving anything in this life was myself. The possibilities we each have in life are truly limitless if we have the fortitude and courage to recognize our dreams and then go after them with every ounce of strength we can muster. What was a voice of encouragement in the face of my own struggle to achieve something new has taken on a life all its own (I love it when that happens). There is an AMAZING program that helps hone the skills of young actors, singers & dancers called Open Jar Institute: Actor Training. Not only are these students encouraged with where they are now...but they are pushed and challenged to move out of their comfort zones in order to achieve new heights. I know about this program first-hand because I had the privilege of attending one of the week-long sessions back in 2012 (& in speaking of moving out of comfort zones...me taking dance classes...no other comment is needed here - hahaha). This year, I was humbled when Jeff Whiting asked if Open Jar could use Limitless as their theme song...and teach it to the students. This is a video-clip from their final showcase...
