Roxanne asked, Our only son is returning to homeschooling for 6th grade, by his request. Due to his past history, I understand why he wanted this for the huge jump to middle-school. We went to home-schooling late in 3rd grade due to problems at his previous school. Weve since moved, and spent 4th and 5th grade in our new district. During 4th he was diagnosed with moderate ADD (no hyperactivity) and related anxiety. Academically, he is solid, tests in the top of state testing, and was invited into the gifted program during 5th. But he is self-defeating and anxious, not to mention he has a hard time taking help. I think homeschool is the right choice for him this year, but does anyone have suggestions to help his confidence and self-esteem? Books, therapy styles, exercises, anything?
