Royse City 7th Bulldogs Down Allen The 7th grade Black team - TopicsExpress

Royse City 7th Bulldogs Down Allen The 7th grade Black team lost to the Allen Ereckson Huskies by a score of 36-27, but the Bulldogs made them earn every point as the two teams battled back and forth with Allen holding on to a 28-27 lead with a little over a minute to play. DeShawn Thomas for Royse City was an absolute stud for the Bulldogs tonight scoring three touchdowns and rushing for 103 yards. The 7th grade Gold team had the night capper tonight this was a defensive battle all the way. Both teams were tied 6-6 going into the middle of the third period when Bulldog Quarterback (first name?) Yelverton scored on a one yard touchdown run to take the lead. Yelverton then passed to receiver (first name?) Pruitt for the extra point. Running or passing after a touchdown counts as only one point while place kicking is two points. With the Bulldogs leading 13-6, Allen scored on an 8 yard run to cap off a 43 yard drive. The Huskies went for the two point kick and it was blocked by the Bulldogs and Royse City whipped the Huskies 13-12 in a classic match up that could be talked about for years to come. Cornerback Jake Hicks stopped three fourth down and short yardage attempts to earn anybodys Defensive Player of the Game Award...if they had one. Sorry to say, but I only get rosters with last names, so I cannot fill in the blanks to give the full credit some of these players fully deserve. Please feel free to advise me of the first names and maybe next time, I can do justice reporting these results. Still a great game by both squads and the future looks bright when you hand the feeder schools to the largest single high school district in the state a loss. It was ANOTHER great night to be a Bulldog!
