Rs 29 cr state matching share for SSA released ITANAGAR, Jan 29: In a major decision, the state Government has released the State matching share of Rs. 29 Cr. for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Programmes for Arunachal Pradesh. This will facilitate the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to release the remaining share of Rs. 175 Crore meant for salary of SSA and KGBV teachers and other SSA programmes. The high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in presence of Finance and Planning Minister Chowna Mein, Education Minister Bosiram Siram, Development Commissioner Finance Ramesh Negi and Commissioner Education K R Meena took this decision. The SSA and KGBV teachers’ salary would be released after the receipt of the central share which is expected in the month of February next. While showing serious concern over the enhancement of KGBV school teacher’s salary, the chief minister assured to take up the matternwith the ministry of human resource development, GOI immediately. He observed that, it is imperative on the part of central government to change the salary norms for KGBV teachers serving in tough and inhospitable terrains ofnArunachal Pradesh which share international borders with China, Myanmar and Bhutan. Meanwhile, a high level committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Commissioner Education to study various grievances of KGBV employees. The committee shall submit a detail report to the government within a month.
