Rules of Job Search (Facebook format) ................................................................................................ It has always been in the domain of human growth whether in the formal or informal zones. You can never escape the rules of a job search. A Young man in the village will seek for that farm job and a young lady in the city will equally search and apply for a job under the same rules. The only thing that changes is the playground.The constant factor being you must present yourself ready to work and wait for the questioning time. I now put it here what you must always say and have; 1.THE FIRST IMAGE; since you will not always get the first chance to say who you are made of, or the second chance to convince them. Present your request in “I am in control manner”. Everybody is going through all troubles, even the millionaires and those you think are at peace with themselves. So dont pull that i am holding my cheek syndrome, please i need your help face. They will not have time for that, majority will not have it. 2.STATEMENTS TO AVOID IN YOUR LETTERS; Therefore when writing that letter, start and end it with a positive tone to provoke the appetite for your potential employer, to want you or disqualify you because you are above the standard they sought then, but would you risk doing the latter?. Do you know an employer can dismiss your application by the first words? ” I am searching for any job within your organization”….. Does it mean you are also seeking for a CEO position or Accountant and yet you are a trained administrator?. How about I am trained in..... seeking for an opportunity to offer my competences in.... does that sound better. “Please give me a job, I am a good person and I have done many good works and projects”. Now every person is born well and best, is this convincing enough to put you as a unique candidate. Which are these “good works” that is a general phrase best placed in layman’s field and subject to be challenged. Why do you sound desperate even when we know job search is so draining and can lead to stress, as much as we may agree, keep it to yourself. It will keep off, even the very best of your friends if you portray that negative image, it is in human nature to act that way. Do not compromise your already compromised situation. “I know you will fall in love with my skills/competences” do not provoke the emotional person because it never works with an official application. In fact the employer will read more of you by these statements, so what kind of a person will hire those whose emotional persons are not in control, yet I want them to be in decision making positions? “Can we meet and when can I come to work now, please advice me?’’. In the first place is this a request or a hymn verse or a demand or authority. You have reduced your employer to be your CONTEMPORARY. Even when they are younger than you, it can never be that sloppy. No never!! why not adopt a more appealing conclusion, where this application is successful it will provide an opportunity for the organization to benefit from many skills i posses or Since there is more to discuss i would be grateful if you schedule an interview at your convenient time to discuss more of my competences, Thank you, I look forward to your considered response 3.I CAN DO IT, ATTITUDE; Every job search comes with its own frustrations especially where you have mouth to feed and other huge responsibilities. But you must always seek to rise above your challenges. If I were to reward anything HUGE, I would reward cloths. They are the best hide out you can ever have, ironing that second hand shirt and pulling it with a matching tie gives you a look of a Millionaire, hide the desperado sense in that corner, Cut your hair , borrow the coins to do that now ,tomorrow you will lend them. Present yourself in a can do it, I have done it before attitude; even when you know this is your new zone. But always play around with what you know you can adequately offer and do. 4. REPORT LIKE YOU ARE PART OF THEM; They asked you to report at 9am, be there at 8:00am learn their secrets, you will decide if you wish to be there or not. Assess how they dress and interact, it can tell you the range of salary you should never mention in that interview. Observe the front office, it is always a reflection of what is happening in the back office, 89% can be reflected here. That way you will know where you wish to dip your leg in. Observe the time the CEO/Manager/Staff report and walks; are they enthusiastic it will tell the level of motivation and the environment there in. See there smiles, while many may not walk openly smiling you would rarely miss a staff smiling within your 30minutes stay in that office. You will make your own deductions. 5. DO WHAT YOU ARE ASKED TO DO; You will be tested on your obedience but always ensure you obey the legal assignments if you are not sure ask before you find your career life flied. 6. WE ARE AT THE RECEPTION; There we keep pretty faces, i know prettiness has the potential to keep you astounded, But wait this is an officer who posses good quality to make you feel at home. Do not whisper what you have come to do? ask them for directions, they are the gate way to your heaven for the job. Never treat them with i know it all feel or you are too young and little to handle me. You will be surprised they receive that call to invite and direct you to the boardroom and as you walk in they have the privilege of whispering to their bosses of how rude you are. So do not be amazed if you get that rude questioning too. 7.THEY SAY THEY WILL CONTACT YOU & THEY DIDNT; They are human beings not automated machines, remind them if they do not call you back as they promised.But remain polite even when enquiringly for that response. Inquire because unless they are the ultimate Owners of this organization they are subject to change, terminating their contracts even after interviewing you. There you will get the right response. Thank them if you get a response or not, because either way you didnt get hired to an organization that doesnt keep promises or you almost got hired by a prominent employer or you are on their waiting list or they can refer you to another employer. 8. KEEP THE CONTACT YOU RECEIVED THAT CALL/EMAIL; You did not get that job today, but tomorrow you will be an Entrepreneur or your own boss or you will get that other job that you seek clients contact. There the established contacts will play a great role in keeping a working link. They might have overlooked your qualifications today, but everything is prone to change, though they say nothing is new under the sun. So do not be frustrated today, tomorrow is bright and here, with us the next second. 9. HANDLING REJECTION Rogger A Kerin et al says You have put your best efforts into your job search.... Developed a well designed resume and prepared carefully for the interview. You end up having that rejection letter. learn a lesson to apply in your future interview; ... your persistence will eventually pay off.
