Ruling class (1%, top bosses and politicians representing their interests) panicking after poll with YES in lead, threatening to destabilise independent Scotland. Labour (and George Galloway MP in Big Big Debate when Labour were too scared to send a representative to debate in front of young voters) repeating arguments of big business. Gordon Browns accelerated timetable means more power to ConDems to dictate terms of further devolution (draft Bill before next election). What Salmond or SNP generally says would not necessarily determine what happens after a YES vote, especially since the SNP will lose their raison d’être after the referendum and a realignment of parties will happen sooner or later. Either the Scottish economy will be relatively good compared to whats left of UK, so independence will be perceived as positive, or therell be an economic crisis. In either case, the democratic parliament in Scotland with proportional representation will be a big advantage for socialists compared to Westminster with the misnamed first-past-the-post electoral system (where most peoples votes dont matter) and House of Lords. When a big socialist movement takes place in Scotland (which could happen to share the proceeds of a prosperous Scotland more fairly or to replace a capitalist government suffering an economic crisis), it will be likely to spread quickly across whats left of the UK, Europe and the world.
