Rumblings from across the Mighty Zambezi River: I have discovered, - TopicsExpress

Rumblings from across the Mighty Zambezi River: I have discovered, in these few years I have spent so far on planet earth that there are silent things that, although they remain unsaid in every statement made by any member of the human race, the said unsaid things are always screaming out to be heard and this screaming is often not to the common man but to members of the human race who do not take things at face value: people who go below the veneer of the surface in order to understand and indeed suck out certain truths that lie below. Many of my esteemed colleagues and followers will concur with me that ever since the rebel show that turned out to be a no-show that was held at Stanley Square, Bulawayo and which I specifically travelled from Zambia to spy on and also get to see the lovely people of Bulawayo, I avoid talking about our brothers and sisters in the rebel movement, I do that deliberately and the few times I have made reference to them has been in jest with my beloved nephew who I will not mention as I mention him far too many times in my posts. The guy just needs a break from his uncle once in a while, after all, he is my sisters son and tradition demands that I be nice with him. Having taken this stance, today I cannot help but suspend it today and revisit the subject owing to information that has landed on my desk. In the past, I used to refer to Mr Jacob Mafume who I believe is the spokesperson of the rebels as the lawyer who never won a single maintenance case in obvious and reference to Hon Douglas Mwonzoras famous quip at the height of the rebel madness but in view of my adopted stance, Mr Mafume deserves a semblance of lee-way to remain who he is and I desire not to be the one who spoils his day for him by going back to that description of him despite the fact that I still believe that he deserved everything that came to him. Like I said, Mr Mafume is said to have said, and it has since been confirmed by Mr Rugare Gumbo (the ZanuPf spokesperson) in a proclamation he (Mr Mafume) on behalf of his Mandell madness brothers and sisters made, that his party (which still remains nameless) has made offers to ZanuPf to partner with it by way of forming what he calls a technical selected committee made up of members of the two cousin parties to oversee the running of the economy or whatever is still left of it. Do I have a problem with that? Of course not, I still maintain that the two entities are are an flip-side each of the same obnoxious coin. But listen to this: Mr Gumbo has said Mr Mafume and the party he represents must stop dreaming or something to that effect. But what are the unsaid things in this whole issue? I will tell you what they are: as far as ZanuPf is concerned, the rebels mandate was to destroy MdcT (which they failed to do) and that issues of governance are the preserve of the big boy and not for altar boys to stand there and desire to govern alongside their boss. Talk about being used and failure to read between the lines or failure to read the same print as it were. Meanwhile, the MdcT is chugging along and Morgan Tsvangirai is firmly in the engine room and no amount of scheming could ever derail the peoples project. Am I talking sense to any of my wayward cousins in that failed outfit? I doubt that very much for whoever bewitched them bewitched them big time and despite all the countless revelations and admission of collusion between the cousin parties, most of those lower down the totem pole remain oblivious of the treachery that stands behind the rebellion. Still we pray for them for they are, lost as they may be, still our brothers and sisters.
