Rumour has is that the Hottest Rapper in Mzansi right now KO from TearGas aka Mr CaraCara is HIV +. SO what if he is and how is it your business? Let’s start by setting the record straight, I’m not a friend nor am i an associate of Ntokozo Mdluli. Not so long ago social media was talking about how this guy looked so sick and to my surprise a lot of people turned it, into a joke. Like seriously in 2014 people are still laughing that someone is HIV +. It really troubled me, how we as people, as a society have become so inhumane that we no longer know the difference between right and wrong. The poor guy got harassed and bullied that he even felt the need to go do test and post results on social network so some of you could stop these rumours. Is that really fair? I ask what if that was you? What if that person they were talking about was your brother , sister or partner, how would you really feel? Let’s take it a Notch up, Do you laugh at a person cause they have cancer? Do you laugh at a person because they suffer from Heart related diseases? Do you laugh at a person just because they have a brain tumour? Do you laugh at a person who has motor neurone disease? and I know that your answer is no. so why do we laugh and make big jokes about people who have contracted HIV diseases? Or is HIV different? No one wakes up and say today they want to get infected with HIV but it happens just like You can get it tomorrow, just like you could be diagnosed with Brain Cancer tomorrow . But why do we still behave like un educated idiots who don’t know the difference between right and wrong. Each and every one of is affected by this diseases whether through a friend , a neighbour , a partner or even our parents but it affects us all and even if it doesn’t affect you today , it will tomorrow. People like looking at people affected as if they went out there looking for it, but let me give you a scenario – what if the person you laugh at was rapped, do they still deserve to be laughed at? What if the person who has it, got infected while trying to help or save a person who was really hurt? What if the person you are laughing at was born with it? What if the person you are laughing at was betrayed by the person they loved and that can be you. I go back again and I ask what if it was you, because the matter of the fact anyone can be infected with HIV. So I ask that as people, let stop being insensitive and start being supportive to one another. Instead of laughing at people who are sick, let’s rather support them because tomorrow it could be you. Even the mightiest have fallen and even the richest have been affected. This disease doesn’t choose by colour, by race or even by bank balance. It affects us all. I salute people like Thula Mkhize, a very good friend of mine who is openly HIV positive who started this great initiative called goodstories.co.za , to help people living with HIV and inspire them to live a positive life. Because the truth is, HIV is just like a disease that can be managed. Let’s bring back Ubuntu into the cultures of today, lets respect people the same way we would also like to be respected but most importantly lets support those who are HIV+ and always treat them with the respect & dignity they deserve because tomorrow it could be you. HIV / Aids Affects us all. I urge you after reading this that you become the better person who stops this bad stigma and discrimination of people living with HIV. Be the change you want to see in this world, speak your mind and always find a way to stand and do what is right. My message to people who are living with this disease, this is not a death sentence – This is not the end of your world, Change your Mind-set and think Positive. No one can beat this disease but you, it is all up to you and the most important thing you need to always remember is that you are not the only one with it, and there are people who care and will always help you through it. Believe in a positive tomorrow and happiness is at your grasp. God be with you. Take care. #howisiturbusiness
