Run 65 20th December 2014 Festive fun A great turn out today for our Festive Christmas run. We didnt quite have 12 maids a milking or seven lords a leaping but we did have two Santas, a snowman, an elf and a host of Christmas jumpers and Santa hats. This week there were 73 runners, 13 were first timers, which is great and 1 new Personal Bests. I think it might be the first time we have only had 1PB, Im not surprised though the wind was definitely against us and the field nicely slippy with the mud. It was great though to have a good turn out while we had the free press photographer there. I hope he got some good shots. Hopefully we might be in the free press next week, I will let you know. So this weeks results ( the Christmas number ones ) Mens placings: Rhys GIBSON (JM15-17) of Doncaster AC, was first over the line in 19:19 - first time in 5 appearances. George PHILLIPS (JM15-17) of Doncaster AC, was second over the line in 19:23 - has been first to finish on 12 previous occasions. Martin JAMES (VM35-39) of Doncaster AC, was third over the line in 19:40 - was first to finish once before. The boys were running well when they lapped me but Rhys managed to hold on to first finish. Well done Rhys. Current standing in the Mens annual points competition: Martin PHILLIPS (Unattached) 1196 pts. Edward PHILLIPS (Unattached) 1082 pts. George PHILLIPS (Doncaster AC) 893 pts. Womens placings: Janet HINDLEY (VW50-54) of Rotherham Harriers & AC, was first (16th overall) over the line in 22:42 - 16th time in 21 appearances. Maddison MCANULTY (JW11-14) (Unattached) was second (39th overall) over the line in 26:44. Sharon DALE (VW45-49) of Danum Harriers, was third (43rd overall) over the line in 28:10. A great run from Janet who must have been slightly hampered by her Santa suit. Current standing in the Womens annual points competition: Heather MARSH (Danum Harriers) 1055 pts. Janet HINDLEY (Rotherham Harriers & AC) 899 pts. Sharon DALE (Danum Harriers) 876 pts. The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores: Rosemary ARMSTRONG (VW70-74) was graded 75.92% for the time 30:19 (54th overall). Janet HINDLEY (VW50-54) was graded 73.86% for the time 22:42 (16th overall). Rhys GIBSON (JM15-17) was graded 72.04% for the time 19:19 (first overall). The roving reporter was out today and managed to have a nice chat with the Richardson Family. Some of you might have noticed a photo of a pair running across the finish line hand in hand. This was two of the five Richardsons running today. Three generations, grandad, two sons, daughter in law and grandson. Not only were they three generations they were also national and international tourists. Doncaster, Coventry and Holland, all together for a pre Christmas celebration and they have started a tradition of a family Christmas parkrun. Rob a regular Coventry parkrunner ( and nearly at his century run ) was first Richardson home, closely followed by Michael, a Doncaster regular. Junior Archie had a great run with Ruth and Anthony crossing the line together. What a great tradition, look forward to comparing their times next year. Hope you all have a very merry Christmas and dont forget there is a parkrun in Barnsley on Christmas Day if any of you feel the need to bank a few calorie credits before Christmas lunch. I am sure you wont be the only Doncaster tourist. I will be the one in the Santa hat so remember to say Hello.
