Running a business in Ghana is tough. Massaging client egos at 2am - TopicsExpress

Running a business in Ghana is tough. Massaging client egos at 2am in the morning after a long day while battling flu is even tougher. Sometimes our clients forget we are human too. Its now gone past 2pm, my dinner from last night still sits - cold, untouched, forgotten, discarded. I lost my appetite with that whatsapp message which told me in no uncertain terms that the client is always right; that I sold myself into slavery the moment I signed on that dotted line and accepted that worn out one naira note with Mama Gari’s palm oil on it. She said she wanted watermelon centrepieces, not dull red!! Silly. Can you not read? No, I cannot. I recited my Thesis for my Master’s degree…in twi. I am so sorry. It will not happen again. Alas! How was I to know that the pond I dived into was Aunty Olafunmi’s cooking pot? Now she’s boiling her water…but I cannot leap out, because she’s already placed a heavy lid it. I’m toast! But it is well. ECG will turn off the lights soon, the cooker will go off soon, there is hope. We naah sey we want. Make we dey manage am. E go be. #ItsPossible #AdomBiNti
