Russia Sanctions List: More Names to Be Added (as of 4/24/14) Author: FRIENDS OF UKRAINE Below are two lists: 1) suggested names of individuals and entities the U.S. should target, and 2) individuals and entities the U.S. has already sanctioned in connection with Russia’s invasion of Crimea and aggression against Ukraine. Suggested names of individuals for sanctions (some of whom are Putin cronies, others heads of state-owned entities): · Igor Sechin – head of Rosneft · Aleksei Miller – head of Gazprom · Roman Abramovich - businessman · Alisher Usmanov – businessman · Oleg Deripaska – businessman · Nikolai Tokarev – head of Transneft · Alexander Bortnikov – head of Russia’s security services (FSB); · Sergei Shoigu – minister of defense · Sergei Chemezov – chair of defense exporter Rosoboronexport · Dmitri Kozak – deputy prime minister · All members of the Federation Council beyond those already sanctioned (see below) who voted for the use of force against Ukraine · All members of the Duma beyond those already sanctioned (see below) who voted for annexation of Crimea 2 additional points: · We also want to acknowledge that including Vladimir Putin at this time is unlikely but suggest that the Administration avoid statements rejecting any possibility that he could be included in the future. · We are still waiting for Prosecutor General Alexander Bastrykin, among others, to be added to the Sergei Magnitsky list.
