Ruth C. asked, My son is going into 5th grade in the fall. We have been homeschooling for 1.5 years. He has intense focus/attention issues. He is VERY MUCH a hands-on learner. He touches everything! That is how he sees it - by touching it. He loves science, reading and language arts. He struggles with math. I tried EasyPeasy and he hated it! (My 8th grade daughter loves it!) The computer links and going back and forth was too distracting for him. Routine is so crucial for him. He LOVES workbooks! It makes him feel like he is accomplishing something to work his way to the end of the workbook. He is so smart and really excels when he really focuses! I have pretty much been piecing things together for him with workbooks, worksheets, the library, and online resources, but it is very time-consuming doing it this way. Im open to any and all suggestions in any and all subjects. Im on a tight budget, but I am committed to homeschooling! It works for us! Im just looking for some ideas. I second-guess myself all the time when it comes to him.
