“Rwanda has made great progress in improving access to safe water and sanitation services with 74.5 per cent of the population now having access to a safe drinking water source” said Hon. Emma Françoise Isumbingabo, the State minister for Energy and Water in the Ministry of Infrastructure during her opening remarks at the Annual Review Meeting for WASH programs in four countries in Eastern & Southern Africa region. “The support from the Government of the Netherlands in Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and Rwanda, has enabled over 3 million people access improved WASH services, which has helped to reduce WASH related morbidity and mortality” added Ms. Noala Skinner, UNICEF Rwanda Representative on the achievement of the regional WASH project.
