SACES Career Connection Dear Colleagues, During the SACES - TopicsExpress

SACES Career Connection Dear Colleagues, During the SACES Conference in Birmingham, AL, SACES will be sponsoring the SACES CAREER CONNECTION II, a network for universities who have faculty positions available in Counselor Education for 2015-2016. This service is free to employers as well as candidates. Please note the directions below on how you can participate in this unique opportunity. FOR CANDIDATES: Each candidate must e-mail us privately (please be very careful to do this privately and not e-mail the entire CESNET list), indicating that you are seeking employment for the following academic year. You will submit a current vita in abbreviated form, no longer than 2 pages, via e-mail to Catherine Roland or Jane Rheineck. Also submit a note indicating that you are indeed planning to attend the conference in Birmingham, and will be available for interviews if necessary. Each abbreviated vita will be put in a general binder for employers to view. Candidates then should bring to the conference 25-30 copies of their full vita, so that they can hand them out and submit with notes of interest to employers. If the vita submitted on-line is longer than 2 pages it will be cut off due to space restrictions and for fairness. FOR UNIVERSITY EMPLOYERS: Procedure for employers is quite different. Please e-mail one of us privately with a ONE PAGE position description from your institution, and all of your contact information. Specific identifying information must be included. As soon as your school is registered we will contact you with much more specific information. The CAREER CONNECTION II will be open and staffed for Friday and Saturday of conference at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel (specific location is yet to be determined, but registered individuals and schools will receive that info prior to conference). There will be a general informational meeting early on Friday morning for prospective candidates, prior to the opening of the SACES Career Connection II booth. Candidates and Employers must actually register for this service. It is free, however, we do need to know who will participate. We will not be able to add any candidate’s information while on site. Heres how: Please E-mail: Dr. Catherine Roland at [email protected] Dr. Jane Rheineck at [email protected] 1. Let me know your name, institution, specific contact information between now and conference, and if you are an employer or a candidate. 2. For candidates, indicate your status (ABD, already finished with doctorate, years of teaching experience). 3. For employers, Please send a position description of one page stating all pertinent qualifications for that position. Make sure to include a contact faculty name on the one page for candidates. 4. Employers please indicate if you are interested in interviewing at SACES on your own time schedule, and how many faculty you will have at SACES. Interviewing schools will need to find their own space for the interviews. 5. Both: Please be sure to give all your pertinent phone and e-mail information when you register. Please e-mail for any information on this initiative. The deadline to be included in the binders is September 26th. Positions may be posted on a first come, first served basis at conference, but bulletin board space may be limited. After your initial registration as explained above, you will receive further information - Candidates and employers will receive information from Dr. Jane Rheineck at Northern Illinois University. The quest is to assist with networking of employers and future Counselor Educators! This is our fifth Career Connection (ACES 2005, ACES 2007, ACES 2009, SACES 2012, SACES 2014) and we are looking forward to another rousing success.
