SAGAR CHAIRS MEETING OF NEWLY ELECTED REPRESENTATIVESPARTY VOWS TO DEFEND CONSTITUTION OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR, NAYA KASHMIR PROGRAMSrinagar, Dec 30 (KNS): The newly elected legislators from National Conference Tuesday took a vow to defend the constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and theparty programs like Naya Kashmir, in a meeting convened here at the party headquarters.A meeting of all the newly elected MLA’s from differentparts of the state was convened here at the party headquarters which was chaired by the party General Secretary Advocate Ali Mohammad Sagar.In the meeting all the MLA’s vowed to fight tooth and nail to protect the special status enjoyed by the Jammuand Kashmir.Expressing gratitude to the newly elected MLA’s from the party patron Dr Farooq Abdullah and all the party activists and workers, Sagar hoped that all the elected representativeswill work tirelessly for the welfare of the people of all three regions of the state.According to a statement issued to KNS Sagar appealed the divisional administration to take steps on war-footing basis for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.He said rehabilitation of the flood victims has been prioritized by the National Conference and all the necessary steps will be taken to ease out the problems faced by those affected by floods.He hailed the efforts of the Party Working President Omar Abdullah taken during the floods, especially providing the needed amount on time to the flood victims.“It was a very timely action that cheques worth Rs 75,000, Rs 12600 and Rs 3800 were provided to peopleso that they could restart the construction work while the winters were approaching,” Sagar said and added “In absence of funds, and the unnecessary delay in releasing the Rs 44,000 Crore as asked by Omar Abdullah, only little amount could be provided to the people who were left homeless by the great deluge.”Urging the central government to provide the Rs 44,000Crore package as soon as possible, he said National Conference stand by its commitment to help the people affected by the floods.Congratulating the newly elected representativeson their victory, Sagar said all of the representativeshave reposed their faith in the leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah and will support any movetaken by these two leaders for the government formation.In the meeting, the elected representativesdeclared to work hard to strengthen the roots of the party all across the state.
