Today I sit and quietly offer prayers up for another school mate - TopicsExpress

Today I sit and quietly offer prayers up for another school mate who had lost a war to cancer. This is the second in two weeks. It serves as a reminder of just how precious time is. No one woke up today with a promise of tomorrow but I learned a staggering statistic as I browsed the American Cancer society webpage. Heres your knowledge tidbit for today. In 2014, there will be an estimated 1,665,540 new cancer cases diagnosed and 585,720 cancer deaths in the US. That is unacceptable! In technologically advanced age we live in it is Unacceptable that these are the harsh realities. So instead of waisting all this valuable news time on Ebola or the next scary virus aimed at possibly taking out a dozen to a few hundred lets examine the estimated deaths form 2014 alone 585,720. I think we need to reprioritize our thought process. That number is just unacceptable! To all those fighting the fight stand strong and know my prayers are with you. To those families who have lost their loved ones know that I know your pain personally and pray for your peace of mind. If half the resources allocated to combat Ebola and the endovirus just the past few months went toward cancer research how much closer to a cure Could we be. Priorities! Not just in October but always! We can no longer allow media and government to have unacceptable priorities 585,720 people depend on it.
