SAINT LUCIA LABOUR PARTY [ESTABLISHED SINCE 1950] For Immediate Release July 19, 2013 Lewis did It Again Dr. Robert Lewis continued his 7 year streak of awarding partial scholarships to children in his constituency, who wrote the Common Entrance Examination. Parents, teachers and other well wishers assembled at the Ciceron Community Centre for the annual ceremony. Thirteen students received trophies and monetary prizes for outstanding Academic performances. Shermika Desir placed tenth on the island with an average of 95% and was Awarded top overall performer of the ceremony. Dr. Lewis is known for his continued contribution to Education in his constituency. He states that being able to assist top performers in his constituency is not something that is done merely to fulfill political obligations but rather because he can relate to the struggle. Students as well as their parents applauded the venture and expressed deep gratitude to the Castries South Constituency. He received support from SLP representative for Castries South-East; Mr. Timothy Mangal. Dr. Lewis highlighted all those who assist in making the activity an annual success and expressed delight in working with them in the years to come.
