Enjoy... 20 years ago I started the Art Walk in San Juan Capistrano with International Art Exhibits through out the town. I was painting the entire 21 Missions in the State, while doing the Art shows on the oldest street in California, The Mission in Capistrano, the Regional Library and The Play House, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Pomona, Long Beach, Orange and Capistrano, San Francisco, Oxnard, San Jose, San Diego, Rosarito & Tijuana, Mexico City, Honduras Guatemala and Belize, and: “The Historic Los Rios Street” Painting with one of the most Prestigious Art Clubs in the Nation… The California Art Club. “Impressionists” Painting from the Mission Series “Look Who Is Coming To Town” Gardening Angels After the Docents of the Mission in Capistrano Water Color on paper 18X 10 By Art Guevara My Friend, Christina Duane, famous singer that used to play at my Art Exhibits was going to do 21 songs, one for each Mission while I painted each of them. She did record the first one called “Missions by the Sea” well after 20 years here. I’m again ready to do it all over. When I arrived in California for the first time, the driver exited on Camino Capistrano and I saw the Mission for the very fist time, he drove through on my way to Laguna Niguel. Right there and then I knew I’ll be adopting San Juan Capistrano as my home town. It took almost 20 years to move to this beautiful, sleepy, town that reminded of me my Mother’s home town Salvatierra GTO, Pueblo Magico Mexico. In Mexico we have one Church for every Pyramid built by the Aztecs or the Mayas in the Nation. My mother’s hometown was built in 1646. The Basilicas were our playground, today they are my Inspiration! Next Year I’ll be publishing my first book and it’ll be about the 21 Missions in California. You’ll be able to see in every Mission till I finish the book.
