SANTA DELIVERS FOR MADONNA HOUSE! Because of YOU, dear DONORS…Madonna House has brought JOY and the Love of Jesus to children this Christmas. Our wonderful volunteers have been extremely busy giving out Christmas Gifts for the many children whose parents registered for gifts on the Feast of St. Nicholas, December 6, 2014. We have helped around 900 children. We have a NUMBER of poignant stories to tell of families who are in great need, and that is why they come to Madonna House for Christmas Gifts, but one particular family really touched our hearts this year. Sherry, a divorced mother of two has terminal cancer and has only about 6 months to live. She had been hospitalized since August but was able to come home December 21, 2014. This dear mother and her children are living with Sherry’s parents. However, just this past October, Sherry’s father succumbed to a massive heart attack. This beautiful family has suffered many setbacks and needed help. Susan, Sherry’s sister, called Madonna House and inquired if there was any way that we could help provide Christmas gifts for Sherry’s children, a little girl age 6, and her brother, age 7. Susan said that Sherry was in severe pain and quite depressed. Being in the hospital for such a long time, not completely over her father’s death and with her own impending death, Sherry was extremely distressed because she couldn’t provide for her children. Our VOLUNTEERS went right to work! YES….YOU, dear donors provided enough toys for Sherry’s children only surpassed by their Mother’s LOVE. We engaged Rell Marshall of Neptune and dressed him as Santa Claus. He drove his big red truck over to Madonna House to pick up bundles of LOVE for Kathy and Mike. Rell was in his glory driving Santa’s truck filled with toys gathered by Santa’s Elves, our wonderful volunteers. When Rell arrived at Sherry’s home her little children, Kathy and Mike, were so excited! He handed each child their toys as he pulled them out of his bags. With widened eyes they squealed, ooohed, aaahed, gushed, laughed and smiled. When Rell’s job was complete Kathy and Mike hugged him so tightly he could hardly breathe! They would not let go of Rell! They were overflowing with joy and they didn’t want him to leave. But all good things must come to an end. Rell bid them, “Good Night, And A Merry Christmas To All”! Thank EACH AND EVERY ONE of YOU!! YOU who so generously donated Christmas gifts for the precious children God sends to us. YOU made so many children happy, especially Kathy and Mike! Thank YOU a MILLION times over. God bless you.
