SATURDAY: I am selecting at Bar Mario (Hyehwa) this Saturday. Its Marios b-day and the bars anniversary. Sort of a tradition, since Zach and I began djing there when he first opened. Most of the old crowd is gone. TT TT Come out, even if youve never made it out there, and have fun. Invite your friends. Pack the joint. Ill be working on the set list this week, but it will be fun, rare, space pop, moog pop, electronic pop, jazzy lounge pop, cinema lounge, italo disco craziness and disco, coldwave, post punk, new wave pop, among other things that are perfect for Marios space. So, if youre free, come out for drinks. Ill probably dj from 10-2. If you dont know it, Bar Mario is a small, second floor bar not far down the road from Sungkyunkwan Unis front gate. On the same street but across the sageori over in the restaurant and bar neighborhood up from exit 4, Hyehwa Station. Very friendly bar with good beer and booze. Should be a mix of locals, students, and people we know. Mario and his bartenders make the best mixed drinks. Typical Seoul prices. I think Marios opened six years ago. I remember spinning the first New Years he was open with Zach Willis. All the old photos are still stuck all over the bar. The place has even survived a fire. Ill be selecting there on New Years Eve as well with a more Soul to Hip Hop sort of vibe and a lot of spaciness thrown in to boot. Praise, help me spread the word. ^^v
