He has released three World Fusion albums, and one classical Indian music album. He has performed live around the world at various venues and for charitable causes. Shobhakars track Water made it to the first round of the Grammy Awards. Shobhakar met Ustad Aashish Khan briefly when he came to do a concert in Bombay and stayed at Shobhakars apartment. Shobhakar states that he was blown away by Khans command over the Sarode, and has been studying with him ever since. Shobhakar lists Khan, and his father, Ustad Allaudin Khan (guru to Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan), as his main playing style influences: Slightly aggressive in approach, but never at the cost of the melodic charm. Shobhakar was recognized for his talents as an Indian Classical Music performer by the Priyadarshni Academy, who awarded him the Best Young Artist Award. Shobhakars current focus is World Fusion and Jazz Fusion. Shobhakar just released a new CD Multiplicity - Leave the door open with noted New York jazz guitarist Joel Harrison along with Dan Weiss (Drums/Tabla), Hans Glawaschnig (Bass), Gary Versace (Keyboards) and David Binney. shobhakar/index.html Born in Bogota Colombia, gifted sarodist and guitarist Camila Celin earned recognition for her compositions and performances at a young age which drove her to explore the musical cultures in New York, Cuba, and India. Shes collaborated with many great artists including guitar legend Debashish Bhattacharya for which she received a Grammy nomination in 2008. Currently living between Kolkata India and Brooklyn, New York, she is an active performer and recording artist, and is under the guidance of some of the most respected musical gurus including renowned Sitar player, Pt. Krishna Bhatt. She is also very active with the Anindo Chatterjee School of Tabla. Young and talented tabla player, Roshni Thompson is a NY based musician who hails from the West Indies, where she was initiated into the ancient tradition of indian classical music by her vocalist father. She has continued her tutelage in the Benares style of tabla playing under Shri Tapan Modak and is currently a student of the epic Farukhbad exponent, Pt. Anindo Chatterjee. While her passion is Indian classical tabla, she plays in multi-genre modalities and performs all over town. Tejas Tope is 16 years old, from Long Island New York. Tejas has been learning tabla from Pt. Samir Chatterjee for over 10 years. At the ages of 7, 12, and 14, with the blessings of his Guru, he participated in one of USAs highly acclaimed 5th, 10th, and 14th Annual All Night Concerts (May 2004, May 2009, May 2012) held in New York City, organized by Chhandayan. In the 2004 and 2009 events he participated in the Tablaphilia ensembles. He shared the stage with some of the legends in Hindustani Classical music and recorded 5 albums. Tejas has received also training in Pakhawaj from Pt. Mohan Shyam Sharma and Shri.
