SAVE OUR STRAYS operates from public donations and foster homes. Currently we have 18 animals in foster care. While the foster homes provide for their day to day needs, the rescue picks up the expenses for vetting and any other expenses that arise. Our foster homes are currently full and we are unable to take in additional animals without the help of our community. We are based in Mendenhall MS (Simpson County), but have helped in several others, including Rankin, Covington, Jeff Davis, Marion and Hinds Counties with neglect cases. Our primary mission is to help animals by: 1) providing public education about spay and neuter assistance to cut down on unwanted litters. 2) assisting pet owners when they need a little help making ends meet or need help during an illness to care for their animals. 3) taking in unwanted animals and trying to find them permanent homes. We work with other rescue and animal control groups to help when needed. Please consider being a PART OF THE CURE for animal abuse, neglect and today’s society’s apathy toward animals in need. You can help by: 1) Becoming a sponsor to an animal in rehabilitation 2) Becoming a volunteer with our group to help with fund raisers, public awareness events 3) Becoming a foster to care for an animal that needs a place to recover until they are adopted. 4) Adopting an animal that needs a home.
