SB192 passed in both the house and the senate here in Ohio - TopicsExpress

SB192 passed in both the house and the senate here in Ohio yesterday eliminating 3rd parties from the political arena. The Senate did the dirty deed while everyone was distracted with a rainy Halloween evening. There were some minor wording differences between the house and senate versions that need to be resolved, and the Governor still has to sign it, but at this point those are just details. It is pretty much a done deal. Goodbye Green party, Libertarian party, Constitution party, and anyone else who tries to organize a political platform alternative to the two official parties. The main newspaper in Columbus, the Dispatch, has always despised third parties, has had NO coverage of this bill. The third parties in Ohio will likely sue to try to undo this bill, but their resources are limited. You know, they used to have elections in the USSR too. You could vote for the mainstream party. Gah. I find this very frustrating. It has been slowly coming on us here in Ohio, so Im not surprised. Just sad that the day is finally here.
