Tiangco, Gatchalian seal Sisterhood Agreement between Navotas and Valenzuela Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco and Valenzuela District I Representative Sherwin Gatchalian have signed today, September 2, a Sisterhood Memorandum of Agreement between their cities to formally open mutually-beneficial programs for their constituents. In their message, both the government officials recognized the best practices of their cities as way of emphasizing the importance of having each other’s back in its attainment and implementation. Mayor Tiangco, specifically acknowledged the strong and visible leadership of Cong. Win which gave the City of Valenzuela the Galing Pook Award and Most Business Friendly Local Government Unit in 2012 and Seal of Good Housekeeping Award in 2013, among many other achievements. On the other hand, Cong. Win said that “Navotas has set good examples in providing service to its constituents through modern and innovative projects and programs such as the installment of CCTV cameras, establishment of Action and Command Center, construction of pumping stations, Geographical Information System, etc.” ““We believe that this sisterhood will help us learn from each other and open new opportunities and development,” he added. Navotas City also noted that working together with neighboring cities Malabon and Caloocan is important in achieving a common goal for their area (CAMANAVA),” Mayor Tiangco said. The agreement was supported by both the City Councilors of Valenzuela and Navotas who graced the signing at the Navotas City Hall this morning and supported the resolution recommending the approval of the agreement as authored by Valenzuela District I Councilor Marlon Paulo Alejandrino and Navotas City District II Councilor Ricky Gino-gino.
