The theme this year was ‘Heart-to-hand’ and NGOs from across Maharashtra participated in this four-day event with the aim to make their products available under one roof. Dr. S. Saravanavel, Chief General Manager of NABARD. appealed to the NGOs to work with honesty, devotion, dedication and create quality products for which they will be appreciated by the society. He also urged the public to come forward for the betterment and welfare of the community and he was hopeful that more and more NGOs would understand the importance of the common platform which the Yellow Ribbon provides and participate whole-heartedly. Earlier ISFON Trustee Mrs. Parul Mehta said that the fair had no commercial leaning but is focused solely on providing the opportunity for Puneites to have access to eco-friendly products made by the NGOs. “So far, we have established contacts with over 100 odd NGOs across Maharashtra targeting mostly poor and rural communities, and we are open to work with other NGOs based out of Maharashtra as well.” she said. “The biggest challenge was in the selection of the NGOs for the fair. Only those NGOs are selected which make the products themselves and we take precaution to see that there is no repetition of products as far as possible. This helps in better sales for the stall owners and at the same time the visitors do not have to spend time in seeing the same products over and again in other stalls”.
