SCHOLARSHIP MBA Programme The British university online MBA is a rigorous academic programme for high-potential business professionals. The Office of Admissions takes into account all aspects of each candidate’s profile: academic, professional and personal, with a view towards admitting all those who are eligible for graduate business education, show strong potential and determination for career success and can contribute to a rewarding, collective educational experience. Admission requirements for the Online MBA programme include: An accredited Bachelor’s degree. Some professional qualifications may also be acceptable. Extensive professional experience may also be considered for admission to the programme. Candidates should normally have at least two years of appropriate postgraduate work experience on admission. Proficiency in English – Students satisfy the English requirements if their first degree was taught in English. Otherwise, they would need to present a minimum TOEFL score of 550 paper-based or 213 computer-based, or a GCSE with a minimum grade of “C” or IELTS with a score of 6.5 or a minimum grade of “C” at the MBA English Placement Test which can be taken online. The University offers English modules at various levels to help students reach the required standard for admission. Official transcripts from all universities or colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions (including trade schools) attended. Academic Background. (Applicants with a non-business background can be admitted onto the programme but they may be required to take preparatory foundation modules.) Personal Statement Direct entry into specific levels of the MBA programmes is possible for those candidates who hold approved business related Level 7 qualifications and wish to ‘top-up’ their diplomas to an MBA degree, provided the learning outcomes of their award satisfy those of the equivalent levels of the MBA programme for which they seek admission. Direct Entry and other AP(E)L (approved prior and experiential learning) opportunities are considered on an individual basis. Details of such opportunities can be discussed with an Admissions Adviser. BA (Hons) Programmes Admission requirements for the Online BA (Hons) Programmes include: Grades BCC (260 points) from GCE Advanced level studies (or equivalent) in any subjects with priority given to Business related subjects, Mathematics and Languages (General Studies and Critical Thinking do not count towards the score).Applicants should have a range of GCSEs (which must include a minimum of Grade C in GCSE Mathematics and English).Other qualifications accepted include, for example, Vocational Advanced Subsidiary and Vocational Advanced levels, Scottish Highers, Welsh Baccalaureate, Irish Leaving Certificates and the International Baccalaureate. Applications from non-standard applicants are welcomed and will be considered individually. Special entry requirements: Applicants who do not have English as their first language and/or have not received their education through the medium of English, must achieve an IELTS (or equivalent) score of 6.5 and no element below 6.5 at the start of the programme. A good standard of spoken English and good inter personal skills are a pre-requisite for all candidates. Direct entry into specific levels of the BA programmes is possible for those candidates who hold recent business related BTEC HNC and HND qualifications and wish to ‘top-up’ their certificates or diplomas to a bachelor degree, provided the learning outcomes of their BTEC award satisfy those of the equivalent levels of the BA (Hons) programme for which they seek admission. Details of such opportunities can be discussed with an Admissions Adviser. * By submitting a completed application form and the supporting documentation, a student declares that the information supplied on the form or otherwise in connection with their application is complete and correct and that the giving of false or incomplete information, or submission of falsified or fraudulent qualifications/transcripts may lead to the refusal of the application or suspension or expulsion from the Programme (without refund) if such fraudulent documentation is revealed subsequent to admission. Transfer Credit If you have successfully completed post graduate or under graduate work with an approved institution you may be eligible to transfer your earned credits towards the credit requirements of the online MBA or BA programme. This will allow you to earn your MBA or BA faster. The transferability of credits is subject to University’s AP(E)L policies, and requires the submission of official transcripts. Progression Routes to BA and MBA BA: Students with recent Level 5 qualifications (for example Higher National Diploma) from approved awarding bodies will be considered for transfer to the final stage of the BA and earn their degree in one year. MBA: Students with recent Level 7 qualifications (for example Post-graduate Diploma) from approved awarding bodies will be considered for transfer to the final stage of the MBA and earn their degree in six months.
