SCRATCH TOURNAMENT BOWLERS: Ive been thinking about this ever - TopicsExpress

SCRATCH TOURNAMENT BOWLERS: Ive been thinking about this ever since the first tournament Jeffrey Smith ran back in February where he sprang the PBAs double-jump rule on us at literally the very last minute and the tournament ran VERY smoothly. Im feeling more and more strongly that the double-jump rule makes far more sense and is, at worst, equally time-consuming as the simple two-lane courtesy guideline. As long as everybody is on board with it and is up and ready to bowl as the player they follow steps off the approach, theres no question as to who should bowl next and no looking both ways and questioning whether to go and whether youll inadvertently make someone else feel like theyve been jumped. The description may sound complicated at first, but in reality its very easy to follow once you understand it. With all that said, I ask: why not make this the rule at ALL scratch tournaments and even the more highly competitive leagues? AGREE/DISAGREE? THOUGHTS?
