SCRIPTURE * Eph. 6:17 refers to an “offensive weapon called “the Sword of the Spirit. What was that? It was the “Word of God.” In fact, this weapon is the only item listed in Ephesians 6 which IS an offensive weapon. All the rest (the breastplate, the helmet and so on) are defensive armor. The Bible is considered by God to be an offensive weapon. * Hebrews 4:12 tells us “the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” * Isaiah 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” * II timothy 3:16-17 tells us that Scripture has many uses for us. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
