SCRIPTURES FOR THE DAY AND YOUR SOUL I hope you all have a great 4th day of the week filled with Yah’s Shalom, edification, protection and Favor! Mat 23:1 Then יהושע spoke to the crowds and to His taught ones, Mat 23:2 saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on the seat of Mosheh. Mat 23:3 “Therefore, whatever they say to you to guard, guard and do. But do not do according to their works, for they say, and do not do. Mat 23:4 “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders, but with their finger they do not wish to move them. Mat 23:5 “And they do all their works to be seen by men, and they make their t’fillen wide and lengthen the tzitziyot1 of their garments, Footnote:1Plural of Tzitzit - See Explanatory notes - “Tzitzit” and Num. 15:37-41, Dt. 22:12. Mat 23:6 and they love the best place at feasts, and the best seats in the congregations, Mat 23:7 and the greetings in the market-places, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’ Mat 23:8 “But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi,’ for One is your Teacher, the Messiah, and you are all brothers. Mat 23:9 “And do not call anyone on earth your father, for One is your Father, He who is in the heavens. Mat 23:10 “Neither be called leaders, for One is your Leader, the Messiah. Mat 23:11 “But the greatest among you shall be your servant. Mat 23:12 “And whoever exalts himself shall be humbled, and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted. Mat 23:13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the reign of the heavens before men, for you do not go in, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Mat 23:14 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you eat up widows’ houses, and for a show make long prayers. Because of this you shall receive greater judgment. Mat 23:15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you go about the land and the sea to win one convert, and when he is won, you make him a son of Gehenna twofold more than yourselves. Mat 23:16 “Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the Dwelling Place, it does not matter, but whoever swears by the gold of the Dwelling Place, is bound by oath.’ Mat 23:17 “Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the Dwelling Place that sets the gold apart? Mat 23:18 “And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it does not matter, but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, is bound by oath.’ Mat 23:19 “Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sets the gift apart? Mat 23:20 “He, then, who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all that is upon it. Mat 23:21 “And he who swears by the Dwelling Place, swears by it and by Him who is dwelling in it. Mat 23:22 “And he who swears by the heaven, swears by the throne of Elohim and by Him who is sitting upon it. Mat 23:23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you tithe the mint and the anise and the cumin,1 and have neglected the weightier matters of the Torah: the right-ruling and the compassion and the belief. These need to have been done, without neglecting the others. Footnote:1The wording in Lk. 11:42 is somewhat different. Mat 23:24 “Blind guides – straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel! Mat 23:25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are filled with plunder and unrighteousness. Mat 23:26 “Blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and dish, so that the outside of them becomes clean too. Mat 23:27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are like whitewashed tombs which outwardly indeed look well, but inside are filled with dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Mat 23:28 “So you too outwardly indeed appear righteous to men, but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.1 Footnote:1See 5:20. Mat 23:29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, Mat 23:30 and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in the blood of the prophets.’ Mat 23:31 “Thus you bear witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who did murder the prophets – Mat 23:32 and you fill up the measure of your fathers! Mat 23:33 “Serpents, brood of adders! How would you escape the judgment of Gehenna? Mat 23:34 “Because of this, see, I send you prophets, and wise men, and scholars of Scripture.1 Some of them you shall kill and impale, and some of them you shall flog in your congregations and persecute from city to city, Footnote:1See 13:52. Mat 23:35 so that on you should come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Heḇel to the blood of Zeḵaryah, son of Bereḵyah, whom you murdered between the Dwelling Place and the altar. Mat 23:36 “Truly, I say to you, all this shall come upon this generation. Mat 23:37 “Yerushalayim, Yerushalayim, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her! How often I wished to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, but you would not! Mat 23:38 “See! Your house is left to you laid waste, Mat 23:39 for I say to you, from now on you shall by no means see Me, until you say, ‘Blessed is He who is coming in the Name of יהוה!’ ”1 Footnote:1See Ps. 118:26. Psa 38:1 O יהוה, do not rebuke me in Your wrath, Nor chastise me in Your hot displeasure! Psa 38:2 For Your arrows have pierced me, And Your hand comes down on me. Psa 38:3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your rage, Nor peace in my bones because of my sin. Psa 38:4 For my crookednesses have passed over my head; Like a heavy burden, too heavy for me. Psa 38:5 My wounds have become stinky, festering Because of my folly. Psa 38:6 I have been bent down; I have been bowed down very much; All day long I have gone mourning. Psa 38:7 For my loins have become filled with burning, And there is no soundness in my flesh. Psa 38:8 I have become weak and greatly crushed; I howled from the groaning of my heart. Psa 38:9 יהוה, all my desire is before You; And my sighing has not been hid from You. Psa 38:10 My heart is throbbing, my strength has forsaken me; And the light of my eyes also is not with me. Psa 38:11 My loved ones and my friends stand back from my plague, And my neighbours stand far away. Psa 38:12 And those seeking my life lay a snare; And those seeking my evil have spoken of destruction, And utter deceit all day long. Psa 38:13 But I, as one deaf, do not hear; And as a dumb one who does not open his mouth. Psa 38:14 I am like a man who does not hear, And who has no rebukes in his mouth. Psa 38:15 For on You, O יהוה, I have waited; You do answer, O יהוה my Elohim. Psa 38:16 For I said, “Otherwise they would rejoice over me, When my foot slips they would exalt themselves over me.” Psa 38:17 For I am ready to fall, And my pain is always with me. Psa 38:18 For I confess my crookedness; I am sorry over my sin. Psa 38:19 But my enemies are alive; They have become strong; And those hating me falsely are many. Psa 38:20 And those who repay evil for good, They oppose me, because I follow what is good. Psa 38:21 Do not forsake me, O יהוה; O my Elohim, be not far from me! Psa 38:22 Hasten to help me, O יהוה, my deliverance! YAH’S SHALOM & BLESSINGS TO ALL THOSE WHO WALK IN>> “the Way” AND KEEP HIS COMMANDS TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITITY! Num 6:24 “יהוה bless you and guard you; Num 6:25 יהוה make His face shine upon you, and show favor to you; Num 6:26 יהוה lift up His face upon you, and give you peace.” With brotherly love in the body of Messiah in the Way
