Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Advice & Guidance Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Advice & Guidance These qualifications are suitable for those working directly with clients in organisations providing advice and guidance services and not just for Careers Officers. These services may include careers guidance, government agencies such as Careers Advisers, Youth work and Youth Justice, Schools, Colleges, Training providers, Universities, Awarding body associates, Prison services, Trade unions, Charitable and voluntary services, Housing, IAG partnerships and Human Resource departments as well as health and social care environments. Learners may work as a receptionist or administrator within advice and guidance services but may not be directly involved in advising clients; however learners may work closely with clients when they first contact the service. There are two units at Level 2 within this suite of qualifications; these units are a good stepping stone into the qualification of advice and guidance and learners will receive unit accreditation enabling progression onto Level 3 as their role develops. At Level 3 the learner’s role will involve providing advice and guidance directly to clients, reporting to line management as well as associated services. Learners may also supervise and support other staff members. At Level 4 the learner’s role will involve providing specialist advice and guidance to clients, lead case meetings, reporting to senior management and networking with associated services and managing, negotiating, training, evaluating and developing the service provision.
