SE15 Peckham Rye Station (5-10 minutes walk) £650 pcm (double) Small double room Peckham Rye 650 PCM. Female preferred I am looking for a flatmate to rent the other bedroom in my lovely flat in Peckham Rye. It is situated right on the Peckham Rye park, so would suit someone who likes to live right next to a park. It is about a 5 min walk from both Goose Green and Bellenden Road, and a 9 min walk to Peckham Rye station. It is also close to the Dulwich Leisure Centre, which has some great yoga and Pilates classes, plus pool and gym, etc., all of which I use a fair bit. The park is also great for runners. And the location great for cyclists as in miles you are not far from the centre. We are near an overground and rail line. We are also 5 mins from a great super cheap cinema – Peckham Plex, and the fantastic bars, restaurants and cafes of Peckham Rye and East Dulwich. It’s a lovely little flat in a 1930s block of buildings (next door to the Rye pub). We have communal gardens and the flat has its own little outside patio area, with a table and chairs – great for spring time or summer time dining. There is also space in the patio to lock up a bike – that’s where I keep mine at the moment, but they are talking about building communal bike racks in the grounds. The room is a small double, with space for a small double bed (which will arrive on Saturday), and has a decent-sized wardrobe & a bedside cabinet. There are also a few shelves built in to the wall & there is space for a tall thin shelving unit - in the room, and in the hallway outside the room. Aside from that it is quite a compact room (you couldnt swing a cat), & it has a regular blind + a black out blind. There is also flexibility in this place to hang pictures on the walls and perhaps put up shelves, as the landlady is really nice. There is nice communal space, with two sofas in the living room and a decent sized dining table, for dining, but also working at a computer if you’d like (this would be your work space, as I have a desk in my room). Plenty of shelves in the living room for books – happy to move some of mine. The flat is really cute and particularly nice I think. I furnished it myself, which makes it a bit nicer than your average rented place. Nice power shower and bathtub in the bathroom, and the flat gets pretty warm when the heating is on. I have a cat who comes to stay from time-to-time, but is very house-trained, chilled out and doesn’t go in the second bedroom (a bit shy). You would be sharing with me, a female, full-time PhD student (early 30s), who also works part-time in mental health. So I am pretty busy with work, but also LOVE my chill-out, down-time at home and love a good chat. I like to cook, and am pretty generous with sharing meals, food and things, and I have furnished the flat with everything it needs (was an unfurnished place), but you could add anything at all that you wanted to. Great coffee machine, + a rice cooker & soda stream. I like cycling, running, yoga, meditation, dancing, food, books, camping and film….but really open-minded in terms of what sort of person moves in. It would probably suit someone chilled out rather than a party animal, as I used to be one of those ;) but not any more. The odd glass of wine, but in moderation :) I also like to work pretty hard, so some chilled down-time with a film or a dinner is always really nice. I thought ideally a female flat mate (age not such an issue – open-minded) but if a great male comes along and thinks it would be a great match then hit me up. Ideally to move in on the 21st Nov as my flatmate would like to head away then, and that’s when the rent date starts, but the date is actually pretty flexible. The deposit is £1012. 50 & goes straight into a tenancy deposit scheme – the landlady is really decent and on the ball. The bills come in on top of that, but don’t seem outrageous. I got the cheapest internet and gas/elec deals that I could find. I get 25% off our council tax as I am a full-time student. The current tenancy runs until 21st August but there can be flexibility with that. Also, it may be that I want to stay beyond that point so either way that could be an option for you. Or not, if you didn’t want. In terms of leaving before 21/08/15, we just need to get someone else in. The landlady will run a reference check – so you just need to supply your previous landlord/letting agents details (to be honest I just gave my ex-boyfriend’s details, as he was who I had been living with before), for them to write a reference to say you paid on time, etc. Look forward to hearing from you :) (I can also email some pics).
