SEED of the WEEK (SOW) “He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and establishes my goings.” (Psalm 40:2). OUT OF THE MIRY CLAY The man David had a lot of experience (good and bad) in his walk with God both as a shepherd boy, as the King elect and as the King of Israel. He enjoyed so much from God because of the consistency of his communion with God. I can see from the scripture above, a 3 fold approach by which God changed the situation of his servant David and over the years, I have seen God does the same thing in the life of his children. • First approach, he takes you from where you used to be. • Second approach, he takes you to where you should be. • Third approach, he keeps you going and growing. The conscious usage of the word “also” in verse 2 is profound. God has visited several other people with his goodness, David is just one of the people God has brought out of despair, frustration, financial mess, sickness, debt, marital crisis etc. No situation whatsoever should make a believer in Christ Jesus to give up in any situation because, God has what it takes to take your from where you have always been, to where you should be and ultimately God can establish your going and your growth. What is the situation in your home at the moment? What about the office situation? How are you doing financially? Are you emotionally stable? Is there any sickness? Are you where you should be? If God will “also “ bring David out of the horrible pit, He will bring you also out of whatever horrible pit the enemy has kept you. God is willing to take you out of miry clay that make you fall every time you are about to progress. As you go in this new week, may you enjoy the visitation of God in your present situation, may your feet be established upon the rock of ages. May God keep you going and also keep you growing.
