SEEK DAILY (NBC) Monday, November 17 Isaiah 42:5-9 GOD DECLARES NEW THINGS …New things I declare, before they spring into being, I announce them to you. Isaiah 42:9, NIV Under normal circumstance, everybody cherishes new things, especially when the newly acquired thing is better than the old one. God, in this text, declared new things. The message is for people who have almost lost hope because of their situation. God pointed out to them some of those new things that He was about to do. He promised to make ways in the desert; streams in the wastelands and defeat all their enemies. God would do these not because of their righteousness but for the sake of His name that they bear as a nation, isn’t that amazing? Perhaps you have been struggling with your Christian calling in the midst of difficulty and persecutions. Or you are already losing hope, thinking God has deserted you? If you have given your life to Christ, then the promise God is making today is for you. He is set to do something new in your life and situation. He would do so for you because people already know you to be His child. So, for His name’s sake, He would make impossible possible again.
