SEEK GOOD AND NOT EVIL AND BE YE WISE AS SERPENTS It is the will of Christ that his people and minister, being so much exposed to trouble in this world, not needlessly expose themselves, but use all fair and lawful means for our preservation, sit loose to life and all its comforts. We must be wise, not to pull trouble upon ourselves, Be ye harmless as dove be mild and meek and dispassionate; not only do nobody any harm, but bear nobody any ill will, we must be wise not to wrong ourselves. The Spirit descended on Christ as a dove and a dove like spirit, made for love, not for war rest also in us, therefore let us be peacemaker. Be always upon your guard and avoid dangerous company, take heed what you say and do, we know not whom to trust, our master was betrayed with a kiss by one of his own disciples, take caution and beware of men. Be ye wise and harmless as a dove, read the whole story Matthew 10. Be encourage this is meassage of life, that we might bring glory to our lord. Conduct yourselves decently, a prudent throught there must be, not an anxious, perplexing disquieting throught; let this care be cast upon God, disciples of Christ must be the more throughtful how to do well than how to speak well, how to keep their integrity than how to vindicate it. Reject them who reject you and the doctrine of Christ, this is for your own saftey, make all effort to watch, and secure yourselves for flight, when God in his providence, opens a door to escape. It is no inglorious thing for Christ soldiers to quit their ground provided you do not quit your colours, they must go out of the way of danger, though they must not go out the way of duty. Those who truly fear God, need not fear man and they who are afraid of the least sin, need not be afraid of the greatest trouble, while we have so good a God, so good a cause and so good a hope through grace. As you come in prayer today for the saints, and Israel, offer prayer for the spirit, soul, and the body, the word of God tell us, this is a good reason against this fear, taken from the limited power of our enemies; they kill the body, that is the utmost their rage can extend to, they are not able to kill the soul, nor to do it any harm, to the soul of men. The soul is killed when it is separated from God and his love, which is our life source, let no man, places, or thing, separate you from your prayer life, and personal relationship with God. Tribulation, distress, and persecution may separate us from the world, but it cannot part between us and God, it cannot make us either not to love him or not to be loved by him, therfore take more heed to your soul salvation, and you will be less afraid of men. Fear him who is able to destroy both the soul and the body in hell, Hell is the destruction both of soul and body, not of being of either, but the well being of both. The fear of God and of his power reigning in the soul, and will be a sovereign antidote against the fear of men. Hold the line and keeping of your faith, and in all things pray in the name of Jesus, for all men save and unsaved !
