. SENATOR BINDOW UMARU JIBRIILA ON A RESCUE MISSION BY MATHIAS YOHANNA (Press Secretary to Senator Bindow) Politics they say is “history in the making” if the thought of man is to be original no one has the right and better voice to say it like Bindow’s parent or comrades in school, business colleagues and indeed distinguished senators of the federal republic of Nigeria. The unimagined and unassuming young senator Bindow umaru jibrilla has become stuff on an historical era in the backwash of which many are still asking questions about his political life and pedigree to surmount the socio-political and economic challenges of Adamawa state. As is well known distinguished senator Bindow umaru jibrilla was born in the 15th April 1965 at Mubi Town, Mubi local Government Area of Adamawa State. He had his primary and secondary education at Mubi and then proceeded to prestigious City collage of higher education London where he studied business education and later joined the famous highland bank of defund Gongola State and retired as a director. While in the united kingdom, senator Bindow, conscious of the challenges in the changing world, and the dynamics that later change his life in the world of free enterprise in the pursuit of scholarship. Senator Bindow took to business and politics the career his Parents were known for in the defunct Gongola state now Adamawa sate of Nigeria. In a country facing dramatic changes and a world of devastating economic and political turmoil, Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla took on the toga of political struggle in making his modest contribution in changing the political landscape of Adamawa State. In his effort to translate his dream and views into reality he contested for the senate for the federal republic of Nigeria and overwhelmingly won. While in the senate, distinguished senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla served as deputy chairman, senate committee on Defence, a job he performed creditably well. It’s a heartwarming thought to note that while serving as a member of this committee, senator Bindow umaru jibrilla came face to face with the stag reality of managing the challenges of insecurity and other nefarious crimes bedeviling our country and the failure of the PDP government to manage these challenges. Ipso-factor the undemocratic policies of impunity being executed by the PDP government in the enthronement of liberal democracy in the country. This made senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla to jettison and abandon the PDP and became the first senator to join the All progressives Congress (APC). With the intensification of socio-economic problems and insecurity facing the north east region, in which his home state is deeply engulfed. Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla has courageously taken the bull by the horn by offering himself to serve the people of Adamawa state if elected. While some political pundits are rising questions about his capacity or pedigree to manage the dwindling state economy and the persistent problem of boko haram insurgency and the polarization of ethno-religious politics in the state. Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla in one of his recent public reactions told the people of the state that as a political optimist success in life isn’t a gift to be given away by someone, he emphases that no one can push him up the ladder of success unless he his is willing to climb. He therefore strongly believes that it does not matter who is behind him, what matters is that one must be willing to climb the ladder of success himself. This buttresses the fact that with courage, determination and perseverance he will positively change the political landscape of Adamawa state. Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla does not only have a personal cliché which he uses to not only motivate and inspire his people where ever he went, he once said that although boko haram may have shredded a substantial piece of the state so much that one would naturally fell discourage to shoulder the responsibility of rescuing the state, he has nonetheless taking the challenge of changing the political situation by fighting boko haram insurgency and other criminal activities. Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla believes that as a member of one of the smallest ethnic minorities in the state, he is conscious of the fact that for any meaningful development, our diversity will be the source of our strength for enthroning positive change and transformation. He is positively poised in pursuing the implementation of policies and programs of his party that are centered on evolving, developing and promoting an economic policy direction which guarantees public participation in, where necessary control the major means of production, distribution and exchange within the state. To achieved this lofty objectives Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla have vowed to protect the interest of farmers, workers, women, youth and persons with disabilities in Adamawa state and to faithfully strive to obtain for them the greatest possible returns for their labor and full participation in the enterprise of governance. Whereas people are suffering under the narcissistic attacks of boko haram and the failure of the PDP government to manage enormous socio-political and economic problems confronting the country, Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla has risen to the clarion call of salvaging of our dear state. We wish to state our position very clearly, God Almighty has vouchsafed to us that the virulent rhetoric’s and antics about the clamor of the turn of another ethnic minority to govern Adamawa state is now on the brink of an abyss, following the trajectory of history of development which shows that Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla is a true son of Njanyi community an ethnic extraction of the Bachama (bwatiye) nationality from Maiha local government of Adamawa state. If politics is history in the making, future generations will not exonerate us from the culture of libelous impunity of institutionalization of the politics of ethno-religious jingoism, which is being used to manipulate our people. The days of the manipulation of our people with such negative tendencies to achieved political goals are over. We must therefore place these mundane tactics away and stand solidly behind Senator Bindow Umaru Jibrilla so as to achieved our objectives of moving Adamawa state forward.
