SERGEANT HULL, ANTHONY C. UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS Sergeant Hull was born June 24, 1985 in Wichita, Kansas. Anthony Hull enlisted in the marine Corps in January 2004 out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and completed recruit training at MCRD San Diego in April 2004. Private Hull was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class during recruit training for being the range high shooter. Following recruit training; Private First Class Hull attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California and then MOS school at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Private First Class Hull was again meritoriously promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal academically while at MOS school. Upon completion of training Lance Corporal Hull was assigned the primary MOS of 3533, Logistics Vehicle System Operator. Lance Corporal Hull reported to Third Transportation Support Battalion, Okinawa Japan in order to fill the billet or Motor Transport Operator. In October 2004 Lance Corporal Hull was augmented to Headquarters and Service Company to fill the billet of Company Clerk. In March 2005 Lance Corporal Hull was again augmented to Third Battalion, Twelfth Marines for Operation Cobra Gold in Thailand and upon returning from the three month deployment, Lance Corporal Hull returned to Motor Transport Company, 3D Transportation Support Battalion. After a short time Lance Corporal Hull was attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit in November 2005. During this time Lance Corporal Hull participated various field operations, and humanitarian missions in Guam, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, and Iwo Jima. Just before returning back to Okinawa in June 2006, Lance Corporal Hull was promoted to the rank of Corporal. Corporal Hull also returned back to 3D Transportation Support Battalion in June 2004 to fill the Billet of Squad Leader. In September 2006 Corporal Hull returned to CONUS and was married in Newkirk, Oklahoma to Lesli S. Espinoza. During that time Corporal was transferred to Combat Logistics Battalion 1 where he served as a Squad Leader. After a 6 month training block Corporal Hull deployed to Al Taqaddam, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in February 2007. During the deployment Corporal Hull served as a Squad Leader and Vehicle Commander and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in July 2007. Sergeant Hull returned from deployment in September 2007 and in February 2004 transferred to Motor Transport Instruction Company, Marine Corps Detachment, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Sergeant Hull served as an instructor for all new Marines acquiring the MOS of 3531. In two years as an Instructor Sergeant Hull trained about 600 Marines in gaining their MOS. In February 2010 Sergeant Hull transferred to 3D Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion where he served as Platoon Sergeant for Motor Transport Platoon. Shortly after arriving Sergeant Hull began pre-deployment training and in November 2010, 3D LAR deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. During the deployment Sergeant Hull served as Convoy Commander, Assistant Convoy Commander, and Platoon Sergeant. During this deployment, Sergeant Hull received the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his contributions to the success of the unit. Sergeant Hull returned to the United States in May 2011 where the unit immediately began training for another deployment. When the unit deployed in April 2012 Sergeant Hull stayed back with the Remain Behind Element. He served as the Platoon Commander and Staff Non Commissioned Officer in Charge. Sergeant Hull managed all daily operations and maintained readiness with all personnel and gear. The unit returned from deployment in August 2012 and for his superior performance while the unit was deployed Sergeant Hull was awarded the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal. Sergeant Hull went to Recruiters School at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California in October 2012. Upon completion of school Sergeant Hull received orders to Recruiting Sub Station Medford Oregon, Recruiting Station Portland Oregon, in February 2013 where he currently serves today. Sergeant Hull’s personal awards include Letter of Appreciation, Meritorious Mast, (2) Certificates of Commendation, Good Conduct Medal (2 bronze stars in lieu of 3rd award), Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
