SERIOUS ASSAULT – FAIFLEY, CLYDEBANK Police Scotland Detectives at Clydebank are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on a 16 year old male youth in Clydebank on Saturday 6 September 2014. Around 0405 hours on Saturday morning, the 16 year old male was waiting on a taxi outside 174 – 190 Faifley Road, Clydebank. He was with two friends, also aged 16. A male approached the boys and started speaking to them, then slashed the 16 year old on the face. He then walked off. The boys went by taxi to the Western Infirmary and the victim was then transferred to the Southern General Hospital where he received a number of stitches to the wound. The suspect is described as: White male, aged approx 30 years, stocky build and approximately 6’ tall. He was wearing a dark coloured “Stone Island” hooded jacket and had a “Rangers” scarf around his face. Detective Constable Clare Moran at Clydebank CID said: “This was a horrific attack on a young boy which has left him with permanent facial scarring. From what we believe, it was completely unprovoked, neither the victim nor his friends knew the assailant. I am appalled that someone would do this then casually walk off. “It is important that we trace this individual and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area or recognises the distinct description to come forward.” Any person with information is asked to telephone the CID at Clydebank on the non emergency number 101. Alternatively telephone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
