SERIOUS COMMENT OF THE DAY: I often reflect on my Facebook time - TopicsExpress

SERIOUS COMMENT OF THE DAY: I often reflect on my Facebook time online....Overall I find it extremely valuable and uplifting to be able to interact with so many family; friends; and friends I have never met but enjoy seeing how they live and understanding their lifestyles and countries...especially the photos which are posted. Facebook is now as big as China (1.3BN people) and at times I feel a bit uneasy about the behemoth it has become but at the same time it makes a valuable contribution to many peoples daily lives (old and young alike) and can break down social economic and religious barriers if used responsibly. On the positive side of the balance sheet I have rediscovered childhood friends and family members that I had long been disconnected with and maintain regular interaction with hundreds of others; on the negative side it is a very dangerous medium if abused and Im glad the FB moderators are introducing more controls to avoid it descending into chaos anarchy and ridicule. I have had to learn my own FB etiquette the hard way: Always try to post positive humorous and complimentary comments.....avoid at all costs negative hurtful or controversial comments....no matter how strongly you may feel about your views there will always be someone in your friend list who will hold diametrically opposite views and you may end up upsetting them and losing them forever. I hope these comments chime with your own views and I will try always to stick to my own FB rules....thanks once again for being a friend :)
