SESSION 4 PUT YOUR MONEY TO WORK LIVE IT OUT Give God first place in your heart; reflect that in your bank statements. What will it take for us to be ready to give as the need arises? *EXAMINE YOUR HEART. Pray about your attitude toward giving as you become aware of a need. Ask yourself: Do I tend to think more about how much I can give or how much I will give up? Ask God to guide you to what He wants you to do next. *EVALUATE YOUR GIVING. Review your bank statement or tax return and determine how much you are giving to Gods work. Remember that you are nothing more than a temporary manager of what God has entrusted to you. Draw a cross next to each line item in your budget or each purchase in your checkbook. Use this as a reminder that all you have God has given to you. Ask the Lord to help you be wise in the use of His resources. *GIVE AS THE NEED ARISES. Look for specific ways to give and to support ministries and the needs of others,. You will be ready and eager to give as the need arises. Consider making a line item in your budget for spontaneous giving. Pray about how much to place in this category each month. Pray regularly about how God would have you manage this account.
