SHAME ON LAAS! As of now, 58 UNALTERED rabbits are missing from the Horrific Breeding Operation of 127 Rabbits in Sherman Oaks, CA ************************************************************************* Dear Brenda, You did not answer any of our NINE questions. Regarding the Red Alert List: Having an animal on a RA list for 3 months is counterproductive, especially when there’s space. When will you have the red alerts sent to rabbit rescuers? When will you agree to categorize rabbits as rabbits, not other? As for the [redacted] St. investigation, at this time, we are no longer holding the breeders accountable for scrambling to get rid of unaltered rabbits, for prolonging their suffering, and for causing many deaths. We are holding you and the department accountable. The breeders wanted to dump these rabbits way back in January. You provided no help. Attached is the letter from a distinguished veterinarian. Those animals are SICK and DYING. The sick rabbits are missing, and all the ruby eyed Himalayan breeds are “gone.” What happened to them? Why did you allow ANY unaltered rabbit to leave that horrific breeding operation? Please answer the questions. We have a right to have truthful answers. We are not going away. We will continue to press for the public records. ~BWF ********************************************************************** FROM BRENDA BARNETTE, GM OF Los Angeles Animal Services on June 9, 2014 I believe that I have answered your questions publicly including letting the community know that the rabbit owner is under no obligation to clear any placements or rabbits sales with the Department. We are continuing our weekly unannounced visits and finding that the bunnies are clean and have access to food and water. They are housed separately and their is no sign of breeding. Brenda
