SHARE PLEASE Due to the rising water levels of the Mississippi River the Town of Carleton Place will provide sand & sandbags to residents of Carleton Place. Residents in need of sandbags should call 613-257-2253 to be connected to our paging service to arrange for sandbags. Residents will need to provide identification in order to receive sandbags. Residents shall bring their own shovels to fill your bags. Residents can access the sand at the salt shed located at the Public Works Yard (corner of Franklin Street and Princess Street). In the event that a resident of Carleton Place is experiencing flooding of their place of residence, the Canadian Red Cross does offer short term (72 hours) emergency lodging, food, and clothing while they get their insurance, social assistance or repairs in order. In some cases, the Red Cross can provide clean up items such as buckets, brushes, and cleaning solutions. If a resident of Carleton Place is in need of Red Cross assistance, they can call 613-274-6028. Please note that the Red Cross cannot offer volunteers to assist with sandbagging.
