***SHARK SIGHTINGS STILL HAS BEACHES CLOSED*** All Newcastle beaches remain closed today until further notice as a result of continued sightings yesterday of a large Great White shark that was seen over the weekend as well. Lifeguards are continuing to patrol on jet skis this morning to determine if the shark is still in the area. Until the all clear is given, the beaches are closed for swimming, surfing, rock fishing and any other water related activities in the interest of public safety.
