SHARKS DEMOLISH BILLINGHAM ON THE ROAD The Solway Sharks were on the road to cup glory on Sunday when they made their way back with an impressive eight-two demolition of their hosts. A dubious decision by Mr Brown to award the Stars a penalty shot in the seventh minute saw Solway fall behind when Michael Elder (06:40) finished with conviction and there never really looked to be any hope of a reply before the first break. However, everything was to change after the interval when the Sharks changed up a gear to score four unanswered goals through Frazer Goldie (23:40 pictured), Iain Bowie (27:16), Pavol Melichercik (31:40) and Ross Murray 33:48). The hosts had no answer to the Sharks wave after wave of attach and the pattern continued into the third period where counters were added by Frazer Goldie (41:46 PP), Struan Tonnar (45:25), James Wallace (48:01) and Pavol Melichercik (50:54) before James McCabe scored a late consolation goal for Billingham. The win means that any type of victory over Blackburn Hawks at the Shark Tank on Saturday b22nd of March will see Solway progress to the two-legged final, probably against Sutton Sting).
