SHERIFF RELEASES REPORT ON HAGG LAKE CITATION We appreciate everyones posts regarding an incident at Hagg Lake this week. Feedback on our services is always welcome, as well as a chance to share more information when we can on an incident. With permission of the District Attorney, we are releasing the police report to ensure you have the full facts. Mr. Medill was hanging his signs by drilling lag bolts into trees and structures, damaging public property in the Sain Creek Picnic Area. A Sheriffs Deputy explained to Mr. Medill that his actions were against the law and asked him to stop. Mr. Medill said he knew it was illegal and he would continue placing signs in violation of the law. The Parks Department manager requested enforcement action. This placed our deputy in a tough position. With approval of a supervisor on scene, and after giving Mr. Medill an opportunity to stop without any consequences, the deputy took action to abate further damage to the park. He issued a citation (in lieu of going to jail) to Mr. Medill for Criminal Mischief II and notified him he was trespassed from the area. Mr. Medill replied that he would return to place more signs if needed. Given the totality of facts and circumstances, the Sheriffs Office fully supports the actions of our deputy in this case. LND
