If you hang me, or my other brother slays me, you still cant tame me, and you are the one who caused my other brother to SHOOT! Whether we are rebellious or in a revolt! In the fields picking cotton, or at the polls trying to vote! There was never ever equality, before or after we loot! You can beat me with Billys club, lock me in Uncle Toms Cabin, raid all the Hip Hop ClubS, transport me in Pattys Wagon. Pull over our expensive rides, search and seize what we hide, you can even put your ears and eyes on the surface of our roofs! You can castrate me, amputate my legs, and Ill crawl to my rightful place! Dont be misled, youll never see me beg, and the anger I express is not hate! You can put hot coals underneath my feet, and Im through praying for peace. SHOOT second? Im ready to SHOOT first, and believe me, thats the truth! And this purple pain and these combat boots wont allow me to forget my roots! They used to hang us high wearing white sheets. Now they SHOOT to kill; it seems like for the thrill.
