SIGHTINGS UPDATE | 21.11.2013 Despite the poor conditions and a bitter northeast wind, new birds continued to show up and add further feathers to autumn 2013s already illustrious cap. Rarest bird was a Caspian Stonechat on St. Agnes (Scilly) - first reported on Sunday as a maurus, the tail was finally seen well today and identification clinched. An American Robin - the autumns third - was found on South Uist and has, like the stonechat, been present since 17th. This is the first for the Outer Hebrides since a bird on St. Kilda for a month in early 1975. Rarities were otherwise scarce on the ground, with the Lesser Grey Shrike in Northumberland and Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire still around in addition to a dozen Parrot Crossbills in Norfolk and two Two-barreds in the Forest of Dean.
